Capillariasis is a dog worm condition caused by Capillaria plica primarily infecting the urinary bladder and sometimes other parts of the urinary tract. Often this is asymptomatic; however, in severe infection symptoms may include frequent and painful urination, bloody urine and straining to urinate.
