Head Pressing in Dogs

Compulsive pressing of the head against a wall or other objects without an apparent reason is termed a head pressing. This condition is a sign of some underlying disease including damage to the nervous system due to a variety of causes, toxic poisoning or liver disease.

Symptoms associated with prosencephalon disease (a disease where forebrain and thallamus part of brain are damaged) are head pressing, circling, seizures, damaged reflexes and visual problems.
