Cylindruria is a condition which is characterized by presence of abnormally high amount of renal casts (particle matter) in urine sediment. This condition is indicative of a kidney malfunction or of a systemic (whole body) disorder that may be affecting the kidneys secondarily. A urine analysis within two hours is important since the casts dissolve after two hours.
