Skin Cancer (Mucocutaneous Plasmacytoma) in Dogs

A rapidly growing tumor originating in cell plasma is known as Mucocutaneous Plasmacytoma. Plasma cells produce antibodies which help body immune system to identify and neutralize foreign organisms. These tumors are mostly found on trunk and legs of dogs. In addition, the condition may develop on the mouth, feet and ears.

Cocker Spaniels and hybrid (mixed breed) dogs are more prone to this condition.

The tumors appear as solitary, solid nodules, either raised or ulcerated.
