Zinc Poisoning in Dogs

Zinc Poisoning is the state in which an animal ingests high levels of zinc-containing material. Although Zinc is a very important mineral in maintaining a healthy body, its excessive intake is harmful and sometime can be fatal.

Zinc Toxicity, as the condition is more commonly referred to, is more common in small breed dogs but it can occur in dogs of any size and breed.

Symptoms of Zinc Toxicity are 

Lack of appetite

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Lethargy

Depression

Excessive hemoglobin levels in blood

Excessive hemoglobin levels in urine

Jaundice

Orange colored feces
